The Quakertown Christian School Elementary Program serves students in grades kindergarten through grade five.  Each self-contained classroom is comfortable, inviting and provides a variety of opportunities for student involvement.  Students are challenged to work to their learning potential and encouraged to work at their own level.  Field trips and resource persons are often used to enhance units of study.  A quality academic program including reading, math, science, social studies, and language arts is taught at each grade level.  Art, music, library instruction, computer technology, and physical education enrich the basic curriculum.  Biblical instruction is integrated into the school day and the life of each student.  Service projects are encouraged at each grade level.  Parent involvement is encouraged and appreciated.

 A PARENT’S PERSPECTIVE

By Sheryl Duerksen, QCS Parent and Teacher

Although caring teachers and thoughtful staff can be found anywhere, our family really appreciated finding those elements at Quakertown Christian School.

In addition to smaller classes, the academic training that our children experienced was a testimony to the quality education offered by the school.  Both of our sons were able to enter Spanish II and Algebra II as high school freshmen, thanks to the excellent instruction which they received from their QCS teachers.

Biblical training is the value-added difference and dimension that our family most appreciated.  Daily devotions and prayer were constantly modeled and became a personal habit that our children continue to practice.  We felt blessed to have our children surrounded by faculty which publicly prayed and vocally shared their personal faith values while modeling Christ-like character for the students.

As a faculty member and parent, it is exciting to be part of a Mennonite ministry that invests in the lives of children.
