“In any learning community, success will only come when the home, school, and church work together to provide a safe, supportive, and spiritual atmosphere for our children. This fact has been and continues to be the foundation of the newly formed QCLC.
Students who are enrolled in a cyber charter school receive a laptop computer, books, supplies, and curriculum from that institute. QCLC completes the program by offering wraparound services such as daily Bible classes, Phys Ed, Art, Music, Athletics, and a sense of community/member of an extended family. Each student reports to to the Learning Community with their computers and completes both the cyber education and QCLC offerings during school hours. QCLC provides a teacher/monitor to facilitate the day and works with each student to ensure they are completing their work.
The cyber curriculum offers both on-line teacher-led classes which resemble the traditional style method of education and on-line self-paced classes. The self-paced curriculum allows the class to conduct service projects each Friday. The students have served at the Souderton Mennonite Homes, the Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission in Philadelphia, and at the elementary/middle school of QCS.
Quakertown Christian Learning Community is proving most successful to the student, family, and QCS. We are looking forward to the challenges of the new year! If you have any questions or would like a personal presentation on the QCLC program, please contact the main office.
